Armfield Angling Newsletter - August 2015
Lac de VilledonCarmen and I regularly receive enquiries with reference to tackle techniques and bait recommendations at Lac de Villedon. We thought it may be useful to newsletter a few F.A.Q's
Type and Quality of Bait
In my experience Mailine Baits have always worked well at the venue, in particular Cell and Hybrid, generally 20 kilos is enough for a weeks stay. Regarding particles, pellet, hemp and any shop bought ready professionally manufactured and ready packed jars are permitted
Hookbaits
Generally 15mm or smaller and in particular balanced baits work extremely well, sitting on the lake beds light covering of silt
Terminal Tackle
Most rigs work well and don't need to be complicated. Please remember tubing only NO leadcore or braided leaders. Hooksize, 6's and 8's work well
There will be a lot of press in the magazines in the coming month as Rob Hales celebrates his 50th birthday at Lac de Villedon along with Steve Briggs, Chris Tarrant, members of the Avid team and other close friends and angling celebrities. There will be live video footage from the week that will be posted to our website and Facebook and YouTube pages
Please remember Lac de Villedon is becoming a very popular venue and its reputation will be furthermore enhanced in the next months.

Le Bois de l'etang now has a new name!!!
Steve and Joan Briggs have arrived yesterday at the venue. Both Steve and Joan were amazed at the quality of both the accommodation and natural beauty of the lily lined lake. Both commented the venue is like a 'Secret Garden' so that's what we have decided to name it.
As of Monday 10th August the name at the venue will appear as 'The Secret Garden' on our website, Facebook and Magazine features.
This venue really does afford the ultimate in comfort and privacy. The house is fully equipt with a range style gas cooker, microwave, ample fridges and freezers and washing machine, tackle room with English charging points not to mention the stunning air conditioned conservatory overlooking your own private swim with optional sun loungers and barbeque! We are also waiting the delivery of the venues swimming pool in the coming weeks.
All in all the perfect venue with fish in excess of 60lbs for a few friends or a family retreat. A competition will also appear in the coming weeks with a chance to win a week at this stunning venue.
Etang de Brigueuil
The beautiful Brigueuil nestles in the Charantes countryside and the jewel in its crown is its spectacular chalet (swim 12), a panoramic lawned area with commanding views over the lake.
The chalet is fully equipped with a well appointed kitchen including washing machine, Freeview TV, a charming lounge seating area with doors opening onto the lakeside terrace. The 2 bedrooms sleep 2 people per room (one with double bed and the other with 2 x singles) enabling a further 2 people to bivvy up on the accompanying double swim on the lawn in front of the chalet.
If you choose to maximise on the accommodation and swim facilities of the chalet this option accommodates 4 non anglers and 2 anglers (in bivvies) for just £800.00 per week. Fabulous value at a venue with charming English hosts. Full internal chalet pictures and lake views can be seen on our website www.armfieldangling.com under the Etang de Brigueuil tab.
